Anila Noor

Spokesperson and Founder & Managing Director of New Women Connectors (Pakistan/Netherlands)

Anila Noor is a Pakistani refugee-activist, TEDx speaker and researcher based in the Netherlands. She is the founder and managing director of New Women Connectors, as well as co-founder of Global Independent Refugee Women Leaders (GIRWL). New Woman Connectors is a pioneering initiative that transforms meaningful participation into sustainable policy change and institutional partnerships. She is an expert on women’s rights, peace building and integration of refugees. Her leadership in local, regional and global forums has focused on amplifying marginalized voices, promoting feminist, decolonial and rights-based approaches and on encouraging inclusion and diversity. As an advisor, she works with different institutions on designing engagement projects related to inclusion and diversity. She is a former fellow of the Open Society Foundation, and former member of the European Migrant Advisory Board (EMAB) Urban Agenda and has worked as a policy advisor on integration for the City of Amsterdam. Anila is also a core team member of the steering committee of the Global Refugee Led Network.
