Fabian Kagimu

Fabian Kagimu is a transgender woman, LGBTIQA+ human rights activist and community psychologist from Uganda. She is the Executive Director of Haven of Pride Africa and founder of Prism Empowerment and Development Initiative. Prism Empowerment and Development Initiative is an organization that provides mental health, sexual and reproductive health services and overall humanitarian and nutritional support for people in need. Having faced imprisonment for her activism, she fled to South Africa where she has continued to support and fight for the self-reliance and integration of LGBTIQA+ community and women refugees living with HIV as well as their rights along several NGOs. She has successfully advocated for her causes and engaged with the South African Department of Home Affairs, Lawyers for Human Rights and other regional and international stakeholders.
