Kelly Clements joined United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as Deputy High Commissioner in 2015. Before joining UNHCR, she was a member of the Senior Executive Service, serving as the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). In 2014, she was Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. From 1993 to 1996, Clements served at the U.S. Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on a Foreign Service appointment. Further, she has worked for the office of the UNHCR in Bangladesh in 1992.
