Najeeba Wazefadost is an Afghan refugee leader, advocate and strategist. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Network of Refugees (APNOR) and a founding member of Global Independent Refugee Women Leaders (GIRWL). Najeeba has spent over a decade building refugee-led networks, shaping global policy, and ensuring that refugees – especially women – have a seat at the table. She has helped establishing advisory boards across government institutions, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and other global policy spaces to elevate refugee leadership. Her expertise spans policy development, program design, research, and high-level advocacy, with a focus on gender equity and meaningful refugee participation. Through her work, she aims to continue to drive systemic change, ensuring that refugee voices influence decisions at the highest levels.
