Cecilia Jimenez-Damary

Cecilia Jimenez-Damary is an international human rights lawyer specialised in forced displacement, migration and transitional justice. She has been the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons between 2016 and 2022 and has over three decades of experience in NGO human rights advocacy for the Asia-Pacific region. She has previously held positions as Senior Legal Advisor and Trainer with the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). Furthermore, she was the National Director of the IDP Project of the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines and the government representative to the Philippine Transitional Justice and Reconciliation Commission. Cecilia currently teaches transitional justice and public international law at De La Salle University in Manila.
