Safia Ibrahimkhel is an Afghan refugee, consultant and women’s rights activist working in women’s socio-economic empowerment. She is the co-founder and former co-chair of UNHCR Global Youth Advisory Council (GYAC) and former member of UNHCR Advisory Board, a consultative body working with humanitarian and development actors, state representatives, donors, NGOs, service providers and refugee and host community members. In 2019 she was awarded as a Youth Peace Ambassador for Pakistan and Afghanistan Youth Dialogues. In 2017 she was selected as the first Afghan refugee woman from Pakistan to represent Afghan refugee voices at the global level. Safia has also worked for Refugee-Led Research Hub at Oxford University as teaching assistant and as research assistant for the Women Refugee Commission (New York) and the Women Regional Network (UK).
